Paying homage to Black heritage in sport and beyond by remembering our rich history and the heroes that came before us; this year, Nike did a two part campaign—Equality. First part featuring athletes of various ethnicities and gender and compelling copy that speaks to equality; and second part, leading up to 2017 NBA All-Star weekend, we localized the campaign by partnering with native New Orleans artist Brandan "Bmike" Odums.
Nike is committed to advancing the ideals of equality, diversity and inclusion across the globe. The concept being not seeing differences of color, at the same time realizing and valuing them as individuals, imagery of athletes and influencers in the campaign all have a gold tint to them. Simple graphic lines that relate to sports are brought in as part of the design element that further drives the message rooted in sports and beyond.
